SPOKANE — The Better Spokane Board of Directors voted over the weekend for the Better Spokane Political Action Committee (PAC) to take a stand in favor of the local bonds and levies appearing on February 13 ballots across Spokane County.
“Support for these measures is critical to ensuring that we have an educational system that effectively serves our growing community,” says Michael Senske, Chairman of the Better Spokane Board of Directors. “Not only do local employers benefit greatly from a well-educated workforce, but these bonds and levies also act as strong drivers of economic development efforts.”
“I have been impressed with the fiscal stewardship of our local school districts, says Michael Cathcart, Better Spokane’s Executive Director, “they have a strong track record of thinking outside the box in order to carefully craft these proposals without including an increase in the tax rate, which is really important for our community.”
Ballots have been mailed to voters and must be returned no later than February 13 to be counted.
